Cage nuts are square nuts inside a cage, one side of which is fitted with two pre-bent tabs. It is a fixing device in a plate accessible from only one side. The cage nuts are simply clipped onto the rear face of the support in varying sheet thicknesses and can correct for differences in positioning.
